The 2016 Summer Workshop, held on 8-12 August, was a great success.  We hosted an impressive group of students who had earned, or were earning, degrees from great institutions such as Harvard, Emory, King's College London, London School of Economics, George Washington, Durham, Cardozo and SOAS. They came from all over the world, including nations from Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe (representing ten different nationalities and countries as diverse as Argentina, Brazil, China, Columbia, Finland, France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom and the United States). And they had diverse research interests, such as information technology law, energy law, human rights, competition law, labor and employment law, gender law, corporate social responsibility, investment law, criminal law, international development law, civil procedure, international finance law, arbitration, medical law, environmental law, jus ad bellum, trade law, intellectual property, tax law, international criminal law, comparative law and the law of war. We were proud to show this outstanding group of candidates where we educate our students and conduct world-class research. And we were able to help them develop, hone their ideas for and start writing their research proposals. Along the way, we enjoyed a series of meet-and-greet sessions, panels, lectures and workshops. We organized tours of our building, campus, Graduate Law Centre on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong's High Court, and Hong Kong itself. It was all topped off with a cruise on Victoria Harbour! The programme is available here. We hope you will consider joining us for the Summer Workshop in 2017! |
